Hi, I’m Theresa — fashion trendsetter, performer, and lifelong lover of all things creative.
As a kid, you could usually find me in my family room after dance class, still in my Danskins, spinning and laughing with my cousin for hours. We’d dream up little performances for anyone willing to watch. Those afternoons weren’t just play — they were the seeds of a deep, lasting love for the arts in all its forms.
I always knew I was different, and I celebrated it. I wore my uniqueness like my favorite outfit — bold, unapologetic, and impossible to ignore. Before long, I noticed others copying my style, and I realized something: my way of expressing myself resonated with people.
That passion carried me to fashion design school, where I soaked up every stitch of knowledge, and later to graphic design, adding another dimension to my creative toolkit. I went on to work in sportswear as a technical designer and in the fast-paced world of graphic design — always blending function with artistry.
Starting My Velveteen Habit was my way of bringing it all together — my love of design, fashion, health, art, and community. It’s my tribute to the artists, the makers, the performers, and the dreamers. The ones who live in full color and move through life like it’s their stage.
